FAQ

Pain Management injections

Yes. At Link Radiology Albany Creek, eligible pain management injections are fully bulk billed for patients with a valid Medicare referral—meaning no out-of-pocket costs.

Pain management injections may be recommended for:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Arthritis in the hips, knees, or shoulders

  • Tendonitis and bursitis

  • Sciatica and nerve pain

  • Sports or overuse injuries

Yes. All procedures are performed by experienced radiologists using advanced CT or ultrasound imaging guidance to ensure accuracy, minimise discomfort, and reduce the risk of complications.

You may feel a brief sting from the local anaesthetic, but most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. The injection is guided precisely to the target area for maximum benefit.

The procedure itself usually takes 15–20 minutes, but you may be at the clinic for around 30–40 minutes in total, including preparation and aftercare.

Some patients notice improvement within 24–48 hours, while for others it may take a few days. Relief may last weeks or months, depending on the condition being treated.

Most patients can drive home after their procedure, but if you feel unsure or experience temporary weakness or numbness, it’s best to arrange for someone to drive you.

Your referring doctor will discuss whether further injections or other treatment options are appropriate if symptoms return.
